If the college admissions process feels overwhelming, know that you’re not the only one. Many homeschooling parents wonder if they’re doing enough to prepare their students for life after high school. Questions about transcripts, course planning, extracurricular activities, testing, scholarships, and admissions requirements can leave families feeling uncertain about what really matters.
That’s why I’m excited to be speaking at the 6th Annual Black Family Homeschool Educators and Scholars Virtual Teach-In (affiliate link) on Saturday, July 18th.
My Session: The College Admissions Process
In my workshop, “The College Admissions Process: A One-Stop Shop for All of Your Questions,” we’ll walk through the key pieces of preparing a homeschool student for college.
Whether you have a middle school student and want to plan ahead, or you’re already navigating the high school years, this session will help you understand:
- What colleges are really looking for
- How to create and maintain transcripts
- Course planning for high school
- The role of extracurricular activities
- Testing considerations
- Scholarship opportunities
- Making confident decisions throughout the high school journey
My goal is simple: to help you leave with greater clarity and confidence so you can move forward without constantly wondering if you’re on the right track.

Learning from Experience
After more than 23 years of homeschooling and guiding 5 children through their educational journeys (including 4 college graduates and a current college student) I understand many of the questions and concerns homeschool parents face when preparing their students for college.
If you’re looking for practical guidance and encouragement, I’d love for you to join us.
